This Privacy Policy explains how Are You A Pilot? ("the Game", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Game on Steam, Google Play (Android), or the web, the website, online rankings, account login, achievement profile, in-app purchases, password reset, support pages, and related online services.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the Game and website, we may collect:
- Account identifiers, such as your email address, username, player ID, and login/session tokens.
- Platform sign-in identifiers when you link a platform account, such as your Steam account ID or your Google Play Games Services player ID and profile name. We do not receive your Google password.
- Password reset information needed to send account recovery messages.
- Gameplay and profile data, such as scores, leaderboard entries, achievements, unlocks, skins, progression, and match results.
- Purchase and entitlement data, such as which in-app products, season content, or level access you own, and purchase tokens or receipts needed to validate and restore purchases. Payments are processed by the platform store (Google Play or Steam); we never see your full payment card details.
- Advertising identifiers on Android, such as the Google Advertising ID, collected by our advertising partners to serve and measure ads in the free version of the Game.
- Technical data needed to run and secure the service, such as IP address, device/browser information, request logs, crash or error logs, timestamps, and anti-abuse signals.
- Support information you choose to send us, such as messages about account access, bugs, refunds, or technical issues.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and maintain player accounts, including sign-in with Google Play Games Services on Android.
- Authenticate users and send password reset emails.
- Process, validate, and restore in-app purchases and platform entitlements (such as paid levels and season skins).
- Show online rankings, achievements, profile progress, skins, and game rewards.
- Serve advertising in the free Android version of the Game through our advertising partners.
- Protect the Game against fraud, abuse, spam, bot activity, and security incidents.
- Debug, maintain, improve, and operate the website, backend, and Game services.
- Respond to support requests and legal or safety obligations.
Legal Basis
Where required by privacy laws, we process information because it is necessary to provide the Game and account services, because we have a legitimate interest in operating and securing the service, because we must comply with legal obligations, or because you have given consent for a specific optional use.
Purchases and Entitlements
In-app purchases on Android are processed by Google Play Billing, and purchases on Steam are processed by Steam. The platform store handles your payment information under its own privacy policy. We receive only the information needed to confirm the purchase and grant the content, such as the product ID, an order or purchase token, and the entitlement status. We store entitlements with your player account so your content can be restored on the same platform.
Advertising and Advertising ID
The free Android version of the Game shows ads provided by Unity LevelPlay (ironSource). To serve and measure ads, the advertising SDK may collect your device's Google Advertising ID, IP address, device information, and ad interaction data under its own privacy policy (Unity/ironSource privacy policy). You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time from your Android device settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads). Versions of the Game without ads (such as paid or premium content on platforms where ads are removed) do not show third-party ads.
Public Rankings and Profiles
Leaderboards and achievement progress may display usernames, scores, ranks, and gameplay progress publicly. Do not use your real name as a username if you do not want it shown in public rankings.
Third-Party Services
The Game and website may use trusted service providers to host and operate online features. These may include Steam (Valve), Google Play services — including Google Play Games Services for sign-in and Google Play Billing for purchases —, Unity services, Unity LevelPlay / ironSource for advertising on Android, Google Cloud, domain/hosting providers, and email delivery providers. These services may process information only as needed to provide platform, hosting, authentication, purchases, advertising, analytics, messaging, security, or support functionality.
Data Retention
We keep account, ranking, achievement, entitlement, and support information for as long as needed to provide the Game, maintain fair competition, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and protect the service. Some server logs may be kept for a limited time for security and debugging.
Security
Information is transmitted using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee perfect security. If we discover a breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will assess the incident, keep required records, notify affected users when required, and report to the appropriate authority when required by law.
Your Choices and Rights
You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or review of personal information associated with your account, subject to identity verification, technical limits, anti-fraud needs, and legal retention requirements. You may also stop using the online services at any time.
Account and Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. Send your request from your account email to support@areyouapilot.com with the subject "Delete my account", or follow the steps on the Support page. After identity verification, we delete account identifiers, profile data, and progression, except for minimal records we must keep for legal, security, or anti-fraud reasons (kept only as long as required).
Children
Are You A Pilot? is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us so we can review and remove it where required.
International Users
Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. Privacy protections and legal rights may vary by region, but we aim to handle personal information responsibly and transparently.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Game, website, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
